In preliminary "Twisted Tales" workshops, participants tied knots and performed dance-like gestures with a sensor-enhanced rope. They also created diagrams and stories to represent the movements. We considered how enacting comparable movements at different scales may deepen understanding of spatial relationships. When further developed, such understandings can become knowledge that we recognize as mathematical.
